Report a player
- During or after a game, tap 🚩 Report under the moves.
- Say what happened (cheating, a bad name, quitting…).
- Your email app opens with the report filled in. Tap Send.
Reports are private: they go only to us and are never posted anywhere.
Block a player
Tap 🔇 Block in a game. They can't join your invites or be matched with you again. Blocked players are listed on the Online Play page, where you can unblock them.
For parents
- Elo Ladder has no accounts, no ads, no in-app purchases and no tracking. Progress is saved only on the device.
- When setting up, players enter their age. Quick match only pairs players in the same age group: 12 and under, 13–17, or 18 and over.
- There is no chat. Players can't send each other any messages at all. Before a game, the only thing they can do is tap "Ready".
- Player names are checked to block bad words and names pretending to be staff.
- Players can still see each other's player names and ratings, so talk with your child about choosing a name that isn't their real name, and about using Report and Block.
Common questions
How do I change my name? Tap your name at the top, then Change name. You can change it once, then once every 180 days.
My rating seems wrong. Each mode has its own rating. Tap ELO at the top to see them all, or take the Elo Test.
Quick match can't find anyone. Quick match pairs you with someone in your age group who picked the same time control at the same moment. Try a more popular one, like Blitz 3 + 2, or invite a friend with a link.
